i am very unhappy! i have waited so long to buy assassins creed and now that i have it, there is a sound problem 🙁 . i have installed it correct, read the manuals and registerd the game. when i wanted to play the game i realised there were no voice audio. every other thing runs smooth and sfx sounds is very good. have any other person came across this problem and know how i can fix it?

i have a xfx marvell 7.1 soundcard. it is a onboard soundcard on a ASUS X48 motherboard. i only use 1 set of stereo speakers at this time.
my soundcard opperating program is soundmax. my opperating system on my pc is still xp professional service pack 3.

i will be very greatfull if you can help me in this problem!

Solution
Hi wykus.

First at all sorry for my bad english, I'm spanish, and my son had the same problem, but I've some practice with videogames (I love them and I'm an developper for virtual worlds), I fixed it. Perhaps my solution can help you too.

The problem with that game is caused for conflict with the sound aceleration.

Try that: In Start>run>(type)DXdiag (press ok or hit return). The DXdialog start. Go to Sound's tabs and set down (all dwn) the sound acceleration, and try again.

I sendt a formal protest to de UBIsoft team. Expensives and good games like this one, need to have more automatic detection and configuration.

Solution
hehehe thanks but i solved the problem 2weeks ago . im am also struggeling with my english because it is my 3th Language :). my country is south africa. i solved my problem like this

if using Realtek High Definition Audio, Soundmax HD Audio, or nForce Audio, you
may experience sound anomalies. To work around the problem, reduce the Hardware
acceleration slider to 'Basic' in the Windows Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio
Devices -> Audio tab -> Advanced -> Performance tab."

So apparently the game does have problems with different sound cards. But this is for XP users, Vista doesn't use hardeware acceleration.

UpDATE The Voices are working now. I did the following like it says above, I set both sliders to the middle setting, Basic for the first one and the other slider under it was in the center. Sound works.

it seams to me that assassins creed is a big problem. i hope the next episode have less problems.

will it work on windows 8.1 with realtek hd audio driver
the game is running very gud the sound is good but its problem with the characters voice, even u can hear the environmental sounds like people water footsteps but only the voice problem is in there....
plz help me with this????

Personally I had the same problem too! But I couldn't find the ''hardware acceleration'' on windows 7 so I came up with another solution! First of all I went to the control panel > hardware and sound > Realtek HD Audio management ( if you are using Realtek ). Then I changed the speaker configuration to stereo BUT without ''checking'' the headphone virtualization! If it is already ''checked'' just ''uncheck'' it... :) Hope this works fine for you too!!! Note:When headphone virtualization was ''checked'' it didn't work for me :) Good Luck! I know I'm too late but maybe someone else has this problem too and can't find the hardware acceleration on windows 7
