I'm playing COD BO II now and I still cant tell the difference from the first COD I bought like 5 years ago. This game has soooo much wasted potential for what it should be doing by now.

Of course the consoles aren't seeing the record breaking growth that phone and tablet gaming segments are. The consoles weren't recently at ground 0 product availability. If you start with nothing, it's far easier to see growth than if you start with a large base.

Tablets and phones will never be able to match the control and sophistication of console/computer gaming. Never.

Consoles just need to keep improving the motion sensing technology. This is one of the best selling points that consoles have and the other is the multifunction use (entertainment center, wifi internet, etc).

If I could play Mario/Animal Crossing/Legend of Zelda etc. without those STUPID motion controllers, then I would buy a Wii and play it! Now, I emulate most of my old Gamecube and N64 games with a 360 controller!

Motion controls suck and are asinine. I want my controller back.

Wii U controller comes off as a bit gimmicky, but one place where it would actually be extremely practical is to be used for music software Korg could and absolutely should make some nice software intended for it on the Wii U.

I personally think the WiiU was a bad move on Nintendo's part. Yeah, it's selling ok so far, but I don't see them leading console sales this generation. But to say that it will fail simply because it's a console is dumb. Yeah, there are plenty of casual gamers that have moved on to smartphone and tablet gaming, but their are always going to be core gamers that want full titles on consoles and PC's. I know I will keep getting consoles as long as they make them, the gaming experience of a casual smartphone/tablet game is never going to equal the fun of entering a new, immersive world on a console/pc.
