I just bought the game. On 1920x1200, normal quality, dx10, aaa, af4x, I am only getting 30-33 fps.

Running two xfx 5770's in CF.

Core i7 920 @ 2.83
6 gigs corsair 1600 mhz
win 7 64 pro

Is this what I should expect? The online benchmarks I am looking at show much higher.

Can someone recommend what I should be setting the game to for best quality with a decent fps? Thanks.

running in dx11 can actually improve framerates due to optimisation. I'd suggest retrying with dx11 and as mentioned make sure physx is turned off.. .thoguh i suspect your fps wouldn't even be in the 30's if you had it turned on

finally as mentioned your cpu MIGHT be slightly bottleneckign you however i am more inclined to reccommend running in dx11 mode first cpu is nice but as mentioned a nice overclock might up fps by a signifigant amount
You are correct, that being said. They are using a 975 Proc OCed to 3.7 GHZ. The two cards are probably being bottlenecked by your CPU. Is there anyway you can OC the 920 higher? What cooler are you using? Have you made a note of the scaling with other games? What are you getting with xfire disabled??

In terms of settings for the game I really couldn't tell you. I bought the game for benchmarking my new build but haven't played it at all.

Did you look at the link he provided, they have 5770s in xfire running like 20% FASTER than he's running and they had DX11 and Higher settings than he did, so that makes me think it's time to look somewhere other than the cards. Either a bottleneck or xfire not working right.

I dunno about DX11 turning up FPS. I play fairly well @ 1920x1080 with my GTX 470. But once you enable DX11 I hit like 30FPS.

Metro 2033 is NOT a good game to judge your system's actual performance. It's sort of the Crysis of 2010. 😉

Yeah, Tom's did a great article on WoW. But then again, WoW does not incorporate a bunch of Tessellation either, just the DX11 API.

Metro 2033 however, does Tessellate, and it definitely puts my GTX 470 to work. LOL I honestly don't play Metro 2033 anymore, because one time through was enough. It just doesn't have re-playability for me. But 30FPS as the 'average' is not cool with me in a dark shooter game like that. So I didn't play in DX11 mode very long.

yea, my 1 gig gts 450 would probably cry if i tried to run metro 2033 on it and since water is bad for my pc i shall probabyl not try it ( i know 450 not the greatest card but for the money its not bad and it was good computer or buy a house... i stand by my decition 😀 )

WoW actually from my understanding does use tessilation just not much

as dx11 won't help the OP i'd revert to the others make sure physx is off, and i'd overclock cpu/ even overclock gpu's5770 do overclock nicely but unless the mobo has three slots between the pci slots i wouldn't overclock em... dual cards with only 2 slots are back to back and usually nto a great idea to overclock, top card will get hot

lol.My "old gtx 260" is running the game at high settings at 1680X1050 with AAA and physx on in DX10 Mode AT AROUND 38 FPS average.considering how demanding the game is I am pretty proud of what my 260 is capable of
