Hey,
not sure if you had gotten that fixed. Nor did I read all the fix
threads.
but have you every heard of Hijackers? They hijack your browser.
go to downloads.com and download a program called Hijackthis!
and run it; you will see programs that control your browser
and looks like they control popups when you run IE.
