Question Port forwarding - hosting dedicated server

Hey everyone!
I just had a quick question maybe I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be. Recently I was thinking about hosting a dedicated Counter-Strike 1.6 server for my buddies and I. We are a bunch of older gamers that grew up playing that game, and I thought it would be fun to have a server to fart around in from time to time. I have a separate machine dedicated to host it with the half life server client ready to go, I just can't figure out how to make it broadcast to the internet...I tried the preconfigured port forwarding profile my router has and I had no luck with that. Do I need to do anything else other than just opening the ports? Should I set up a custom profile in the router? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and who knows, maybe we can play together someday!

Hi @Leetyx ,

According to the interwebs, the following ports are needed to be opened:

UDP 6003, 7002, 27010, 27015, 27025

I'd also suggest using an application called Port Forward. This application, even when using it as a free trial, will automatically open and 'broadcast' your ports on that machine.

Thanks @Jetrise , I will try those ports out. Also, that website is very resourceful, I can't believe I haven't come across it before!
