Hi all

I'm going to attempt to make a portable desktop similar to this;
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSJZ7MtKe1w&list=PLicpvseyvPPnv50o9u7ZreezOPoHJtteb&index=2&t=939s

I also will be using battery bank and solar panels/mini wind turbine's. I'm hoping to run the rig 12-16 hr s a day.
I don't know what to go with for cooling.
Very low power speaker like a cellphone speaker.
Most likely be using a 20" & 11" monitor's.
Does the power supply size affect how much power is needed ? Ie. 1200w use more power than a 400w psu wen pc is only caling for 300w ?
Any one know how much power consumption each ram card uses ?
What should I go with for boot/os device ? m.2 or the new pci storage things. I need to do more research.

An electrical device will draw as much power as it's designed for and it needs at the time depending on the load. A 100W light bulb (or any device) will draw 100W no matter if it was connected to 100W supply or directly to a nuclear power plant producing Gigawatts of power.
In a PC, most power (up to 90%) is used by CPU and GPU. Rest is used by chipset and mechanical HDDs in that order, RAM and SSD usage is so small that is practically negligible.
Some losses are incurred in Voltage conversion in PSU and VRM and are more apparent in production of heat. Heat increases resistance which should be eliminated. In general, PSU should be able to supply 25 -30% more power than maximum required by whole system to account for higher power draw during startup and and variation of input power(Voltage)
Modern PSUs are rated by how much power loss they incur, from no rating, over Bronze up to Platinum.
