Hello all!

My machine sort of died about a month ago and I've been trying to pin down the exact issue. I took the entire thing apart and re-assembled it to eliminate the possibility of loose connections and reseated the CPU.

What's happening is when I go to turn on my PC the tower fans and the CPU fan barely starts (a few rotations) then everything just stops. The GPU fan never starts and nothing else starts either. The lights on the mobo are on, so the power source appears to be working. I think it might be a mobo issue but I'm not entirely sure and would love to hear feedback from the community!

My mobo is an Asus Z97-AR. I can provide other information in regards to the components if needed for troubleshooting as well!

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I start to buy each piece to swap out in an attempt to repair it. Thank you very much!

Thank you for this helpful advice! I attempted to boot the computer to observe the POST state LEDs indicated in the user manual. Of course the computer does not come on beyond a brief spin of the fans, and none of the POST state LEDs stayed on to indicate any issues.

I removed the power source and did the test an decribed in the video. My power supply is working as it should.

Do you or anyone else have suggestions that may be helpful or need more information to make a suggestion? I'm quite desperate to fix this. Thank you so much!

1) Open the case, try to turn on the PC, then look at POST state LEDs to see what error you got. For more info, go to the MB manual page 1-36. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97AR/HelpDesk_Manual/

2) You may test the PSU with paper clip method. How to
