Possible to change the backplate of ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme?

I was watching a review of something, and saw a guy who had a custom made backplate on his GTX 1080, I don't remember which one, but it made me wonder if it would be possible to change the backplate of ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme. I'd like to get this card, but it clashes with my color scheme.

Why would you not just remove and paint the one that's on there?

Not sure for that particular model, because it really has to be directly compatible with it I think. Have you considered just getting it painted? Seems like the easier/faster solution.

I didn't think of that. Can I just use oil paint?

Engine enamel spraypaint and primer usually works well, but you can use something else if you don't want it to be shiny. Just get something that doesn't mind getting hot.

I would imagine you would need something that could take the temps like plastidip

Plastidip will work. Could get it powder coated too.

Wait, I can safely unscrew the backplate, right? Otherwise, it would be very tricky to spray paint with all of those holes.

yeah you can unscrew it, just make sure that you keep track of where all the thermal pads go if there are any, don't paint those

Won't it void the extended warranty if I alter the product?

Yeah probably, but I don't think you need to take any warrant stickers off to remove the backplate and if you use plastidip you can just peel it off if you ever need to return the GPU.
