Solution
LucoTF thanks for the link,

I switched the GTX 770 to the R9 280x, I wold really like you to consider it, the following article will prove my point + it's almost 100$ cheaper.
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32899-4.html

** I changed the motherboard as well, the ASRock Z97 Anniversary isn't compatible with SLI or even crossfire, this ASRock PRO4 is compatible with Crossfire but not with SLI, it means that if you'll get 770 you won't be able to add another card in the future with neither the Anniversary or the PRO4, the 280x will work in crossfire (2 cards) with the PRO4 motherboard tho.

Another thing I changed is the case (Obvious), because the one you chose is pretty bad.

Done, sorry about the link, please review it

I would not change a thing in your build. In fact, I would ADD a CPU cooler, since you plan to overclock. The stock cooler just isn't good enough.

And no, RAM is not bottlenecked by your motherboard. It supports DDR3-1600 / 1866 / 2133 / 2400 / 2800 / 2933 / 3100. In fact, you can get 1866 or even 2133 MHz RAM if you can find it for cheap, although this won't make much difference in real life.

Thanks a lot, quick reply, will order parts tommorow

Thanks for your kind help :)

That is a nice build charmer, you could save another $20 by getting this PSU though: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620m

The HCG antecs are made by Seasonic and still more than enough for your needs.

Aftermarket cooler - essential when you do start overclocking, but not right off the bat. Stock cooling will do until then (or maybe till the summer sun hits lol).

Other than that you won't save much on that build without dropping the overclocking :)

If i decide to dorp the overclocking, what will drop in price? the motherboard and cpu only?

Yeah pretty much - between the motherboard/ CPU (and future cooler) you'd save a minimum of $110 and that's just by going like-for-like on the CPU/mobo and dropping the OC aspect.

A lot of people refer to overclocking as a 'free' performance boost but it really isn't.

As for is it worth it? I think if you overclocked the 4690k today you would see very little difference in gaming, as you'd be limited by the GPU not the CPU so overclocking the GPU makes much more sense.

But on the other hand, you are building more longevity into your rig by having that bit extra in the tank for when you do need it. It's not for the here and now though imo, not with an i5. It's your decision though.

Also, you know, overclocking is fun 😀

Thanks luco, you made it all clear to me.. im still debating as to where i should go with charmers build and go with the 280x with the mobo, i really feel like going for the 770x, but then i would have to change my mobo right? -.- what would you do luco?

I think it's only fair to point out that the r9280x is slightly weaker than a GTX 770, and with 770s starting from $399 it's really a $70 difference, not $100. Still, it is competitively priced that's for sure.

Do you still need an extra fan if you plan on overclocking gpu?

No you don't need a new GPU fan, you don't open them up at all (although some people do!). It's best just to buy a good model like the asus direct CU in your OP, or the 3x windforce I recommended yesterday (which also has a nice factory overclock to save you some trouble) and then overclock through software.

Windforce http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn770oc2gd
Some 770s reviewed http://www.anandtech.com/show/7392/the-geforce-gtx-770-roundup-evga-gigabyte-and-msi-compared/2

Most mobos will work with any card btw so you don't need to change from charmer's mobo if you want the 770 over the 280x
