I do a little of everything with my PC: music, photo editing, gaming, work, videos, and will be dabbling soon in a multiple OS environment (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Linux). Most of the space used will be for my photos, games, and my library of software and hardware patches/drivers. I wanted 4 drives initially since 2 will be in a RAID 0 for better performance (have been using RAID 0 for a few years now) and the other two will be a seperate partition as a RAID 1, which is where my backed up data will go. I can't afford to lose all my data and my regular backups take up a lot of space quickly in a short time, averaging ~30GB for each backup. I will also be using the RAID 1 set as my scratch disk for photo editing and for the system swap file. With this, on top of my bi-annual to annual DVD backup, I should at all times have 3-4 copies of my data (1 on the main drive, 2 on the second set since they are mirrored drives, then 1 on DVD). Now since my data is getting so large, I plan on buying an external drive to take with me and do my 4th backup on instead of the DVDs. DVD backup can quickly get expensive when backing up the amount of data I have. I was initially considering RAID 5, but RAID 10 performs better at the cost of sacrificing more drive space. But since I am not using 4 identical drives as initially planned, I intend on just doing a seperate RAID 1 and RAID 0. No biggy, that is what a backup scheduler is for.

My PC:

Core 2 Duo E6300 @ stock 1.86ghz
MSI 975X Platinum v2
Asus Radeon EAX550 128MB
2x 512 mb Samsung ddr2 667 modules CL5.0
160GB IDE 8MB Maxtor Hardrive
320GB SATA2 Seagate Hardrive 7200.10rpm
16x LG DVD+/-RW DL Burner

Family PC:

AMD Sempron 2800+ (64 bit 754) @ 1.8ghz
Asus Geforce 4 MX4000 128MB
ECS K8M800-M2
2x512mb Samsung ddr 400 modules CL2.5
60GB IDE Maxtor Hardrive
40x NEC CD-RW
16x Sony DVD-ROM

In my closet:

Pentium 4 2.4ghz (Northwood)
Asus P4B533
512mb DDR400 OCZ Value Ram
Kingston 10/100mb lan card
24x LG Burner
16x Sony DVD-ROM
10GB unknown speed and cache Quantum Hardrive
No video card

No picture yet--will put one when I get one though. My case is an ancient recycled one from 1999, so certainly nothing special. In addition to the specs in my signature, I have a:

1. Memorex 48x CD-RW drive,
2. AMD CPU just uses stock cooler (and never gets above 52 Celsius...hangs at 44 Celsius at idle),
3. An old 19" MagView CRT monitor from March of 2000 (mfr. date),
4. A couple of old Gravis Gamepad Pro's (1 USB, one "gameport"),
5. A Saitek Joystick (will edit when I have model #),
6. Standard PS/2 keyboard (from an old NEC PC),
7. Microsoft USB Optical Mouse w/ wheel,
8. An APC Back-UPS RS 1500VA, and
9. A P.O.S. D-Link DWL-G120 USB wireless card.

Just listing it all, folks. I have many other spare parts waiting to be used, just no spare PC case to put them in. Only thing worth mentioning is I have an Antec NeoPower 480W PSU only used once to ensure it works, the rest is oldschool stuff.

My rig is what's in my sig, plus:

CoolerMaster Cavalier case
430W Thermaltake PSU (19A on the +12V)
DVD Burner, DVD Reader
19" Viewsonic LCD
SoundBlaster Audigy 2
HP keyboard
Microsh!t mouse
WinXP Pro

It used to be an HP with a 3.2GHz P4 (yuck; Prescott), ASUS mobo, 300W PSU. When the CPU and mobo fried, I replaced the PSU just for good measure. I also replaced the case.

Family computer (Dell Dimension 4400):
P4 1.6 Willy
768MB PC2100
80GB hard drive
GF2 MX440
CD burner
DVD Drive
WinXP Home
HP mouse (the sh!tty one which I didn't want to use on my PC!)
Microsh!t keyboard

This computer was broken for about two weeks; I just reinstalled Windows, and it's (kinda) working. The problem is that it restarts randomly; when it's loaded Windows, it gives me a message that says, "the system has recovered from a serious error" or something like that. I'm trying to fix it, but so far, I'm unsuccessful.

Little bro's computer (Dell XPS T450):
P3 450
128MB PC100
Diamond Viper V550
40GB HDD
2xCD Drive
If there's anything else, it's not significant enough for me to mention.

Lying around:
Fried P4 540
Fried ASUS proprietary mobo
Crappy Intel HS/F (that sh!t that comes with s775 CPUs)
300W PSU (works! 19A on the 12V! I might use it sometime in the future)

LOL; the family computer (that I'm typing this on) is a Dell 4400, and my little brother is using an XPS T450. The specs of both these machines are in my post a little up the page.

Not even close to being done yet, there are still mhz to be found. With time and a keen eye my 3800 might break 2.8 on air. Or it just might break.
