Starting with MY first computer (as opposed to my parents computers that I used):

TNT2 16MB
Geforce 2 64MB
AIW 128 (spent about 10 minutes in my computer but it killed my Geforce so I pulled it and intended to stick it into my first decent spare computer...never happened)
FX5200 128MB (big mistake)
6600GT (currently in my backup rig)
7900GT (my current gaming rig)

?-2004 (bought from local builder)
unknown integrated
unknown intel processor

2004-2006 (emachines)
nvidia integrated + radeon 9550 se
athlon xp

2006-present (my first build)
geforce 6200
athlon 64 X2

For on board I like Intel Graphics .. stable and good drivers plus they are good for notebooks .. for cards let the list speak for it's self

1. unknown
2. unknown
3.unknown
4. Ati Rage pro (on board ) - drivers made me so mad that i never plan to get another ATI card
5. Intel (on board )
6. Nvidia 5200
7.nvidia 5750 (pci E)
8 Nvidia 6600
9. Nvidia 7900

all other are going to be Nvidia as well unless nvidia F**ks up good. but i do have to say that the drivers for the ATI tv tuner 550 are good so i might go back but unlikely.

Hahaha GF5*** lol, never had one but some of my friends did... Didn't like em much... IMO The ATI 9*** was beast over them... I skipped GF6***, how were they in comparison to their ATI counterpart??

ATI 7000 <-- Still have it in a box...
ATI 9250 <-- Still running with my Athlon 2200+
ATI x700 <-- Was goin to replace the 9250, but I didn't feel like replacing PSU , so I returned it...
Nvidia 7900GT <-- Current card..

Next Card <-- Plan on goin ATI again, not that the 79 was bad Im just partial to ATI, and twards AMD.. plus Im really anticipating r600

Im not so rich and I don't work, so I don't have alot to buy cards..

Nice thread!

Mine is as follows, with the Memory Size/CPU speed/Memory in brackets to show how far things have moved on:

Voodoo 1 (4MB/50MHz/50MHz)
Voodoo 2 (12MB/90MHz/90MHz)
Voodoo 2 in SLI - Quake 2 at 1024x768!!
Geforce 256 DDR (32MB/120MHz/300MHz)
Geforce 3 TI200 (64MB/175MHz/400MHz)
Radeon 9700 PRO (128MB/325MHz/650MHz)
Radeon X800XL (256MB/400MHz/1000MHz)
Radeon X1800XT (256MB/625MHz/1500MHz)

Far, far the most impressive purchase of course was the Voodoo 1. It was truly amazing to see Quakeworld in OpenGL for the first time compared to software 3D.

Hmm, just noticed that I bought 3 3dfx, then 2 Nvidia, then 3 ATI. Must be time to switch allegiances again :)

1. Trident ****(can't remmeber that model)(4 mb)
2. Intel I740 8MB
3. Nvidia TNT M64 32 MB
4. Geforce 5200 128 MB
5. Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB

* some onboard crap with my 16 MHz macintosh
* some onboard crap with my AMD K6 rig
* ATI 9600 PRO
* ATI x1950 PRO

Waiting for R600 unless it sucks, in which case I switch to nVidia 8800 or 8900....

1. Onboard Rubbish in a Dell 486 SX25
2. Diamond Stealth 64 VESA local bus(great decision that one)
3. Matrox Millenium
4. Diamond Monster 3DFX Add on card (this was awesome at the time)
5. Some kind TNT 2 thing(cant remember)
6. GeForce 2 GTS (I stuck with this one for ages, I guess I was broke_
7. ATI X800 XT AGP( as someone said earlier, I'm hanging on to this one until I build a new system)

Can you list every Video Card you ever owned
Not a chance 😳 but I can go back a few years and list the ones used in my own main gaming rig.

AGP:
AIW Pro 8MB
Rage Fury 32MB
Radeon DDR (original 32MB)
R8500 64MB
GF4 Ti4200
R9500 pro
R9800 pro
GF6800U

PCI-e:
7800GT
X1800XT 256MB
X1950XT 256MB
8800GTS 320MB

I have quite a weird lineup

voodoo 3 16meg <-- For tribes on a IBM aptivia, never could get it to work lol

voodoo 4 32meg <-- 3dfxGlide, how do i miss it, bought for UT the original one

Nv geforce 2 64 <-- Loved it, burnt it out OC though

Nv Geforce 4 4200ti 128 <-- Burnt out aswell ....

Nv FX 5700 256 xfx <-- still works, My all time favorite card dont know why.

ATI 9600 256 < funny story, \/

NV 7600 GS 256 eVGA <-- So i hated my ATI, i went to the store and i thought hmmm...... Thats a good price on a 7600, so i bought it. Soon i got the bright idea of removing the stickers and putting them on the Ati card. Returned the ati card and got a free 7600!

And these puppys should be coming in 2 days.

mmmmm

2 XFX 7950gt 256 SLi.....

XFX grew on me after my fx 5700

Trident ISA card... no idea how much RAM. Hazard a guess at 1MB?
Creative Riva TNT PCI 16MB. Blew me and my brother away. Shipped with a copy of Forsaken, which we never got to play since I was 9 and he was 10.
ELSA Erazor III Riva TNT2 32MB AGP 4x card. Oh yeah, baby. My brother got a GeForce 2 MX400 64MB for his rig. My dad had an ATi Rage IIc 8MB(don't ask - horrible).
Some abysmally crappy Hercules Prophet II something-or-other card. Only card I've ever owned with a HSF.
ATi Radeon 9000 64MB DDR. Loved this one, served me well for a couple years. Played Halo and other "new" titles decently.
ATi Radeon 9250 128MB DDR. Again, played games like FarCry and Republic Commando decently.
Integrated GeForce 6100 w/ 128MB shared RAM. Oh, the horror. Can't wait to get another card (hopefully an 8600 Ultra this summer).

The guy didn't notice the red (or atleast not green) PCB of the ATI card? Damn, you're lucky. Unethical as hell, but lucky.

Ok here is I am sure the shortest list ever considering I have had a pc for 9 years. I dont count the 8088 that I shared with my mom.

Ok I started with:

Voodoo 2 (dont remember the specs) then
Geforece to 32MB card and now the current one I have
Ati 9600 I belive.

Now lets see someone beat that short list for a 9 year period

S3 8mb
Intel 945G onboard (Played CS on this with Dial up for 2 years)
XFX FX 5200 128mb PCI (I could play ZH!)
Gainward 6800GT GS Ultra/2400 256mb (this card still serves me well but it's being sold as part of a full system) $700 AUD!
HiS X1950Pro 256mb in the mail

The X1950pro is just to hold me out till R600 and G80 revisions come along then I'm going crazy like I did with my 6800

I've owned a Geforce MX4000 too. I wanted to play ET but my Nvidia TNT2 wouldn't work on it. So I went to Wal-mart and the card was like 80$ so I was like this has got to be good. Wish I would a researched, or knew how to then. I found out later that on newegg you could of got that card for like nothing.

So my history is:
TNT2
Mx4000
X850XT
In a few days X1950XT

Hrmm.. you know way back in the dos days before 3d acceleration i didnt pay much attention to my video card.. hehe

Here's the ones i remember

ATI Mach64
Nvidia Riva 128 + Dual Voodoo2's Diamond monster 3d's i think.
Nvidia Riva TNT2 Ultra
Voodoo 3 3000
Geforce 4 MX
Radeon 8500
Radeon 9600 Pro
NV 5900Ultra
X800 XT
7800GT
X1900XT
8800GTS(Which i returned within a week, so i guess it doesnt count)

-ATI Rage Pro integrated 4mb (back when having a dedicated 3D card was a novelty)

-GeForce 256 32mb
-GeForce 256 32mb DDR

-GeForce 3 64mb
-GeForce 4 ti4600 128mb (current)

Hello, the fx5800 was a decent card for the time but it had a little trouble in farcry @ max and wasn`t too fast either in doom3.

As for the sound: YES it was LOUD 8O . But i didn`t care and just pumped up the volume
