Power and Battery indcator blinking on Acer Aspire 4736z

When I plug in the charger, the power button (blue) and battery indicator (orange) starts blinking. I purchased a new battery 2 days ago as the original one was not holding charge. Laptop is running fine on adapter only.
P.S. The battery is holding charge efficiently.
Please help me!

Unplug the battery and hold the power button down for 1 minute then please post the results.
