After a recent power outage I find that when I shutdown my computer through the start menu or by pressing the power button on my case, my pc turns off but the power indicator light stays on. I get it to shut off by switching off the power supply and turning it back on again.

If I shutdown my computer by holding the power button down until the computer shuts off, then the power indicator light turns off as well.

Any clue as to how to fix this?

I already tried disabling fast start up and loading optimized settings in the bios.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried clearing your CMOS? BIOS version for your motherboard?

the power indicator light stays on
On the case, the motherboard or the back of your PSU? Some motherboard's will have a standby LED on them to state that power is being fed to the board. On second thoughts, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
