My P7H55M is dead 🙁
It had been in its crusty, hot case for years, and i finally decided to put it into a TV I have. Once transplanted, it would not start.
The light comes on the motherboard, but nothing when I hit the power button. I tried the "Green to Ground" trick on the power supply, and the CPU fan does start up. I took the heatsink off and noticed the CPU does warm up, so I believe the CPU is still OK.
Now, I have been having problems recently with this motherboard not wanting to fire up from a cold state. I am starting to believe there are some capacitors going out... I have tested a few with the crude method using a DMM, but I really cant tell much with that. In a few days I will have a capacitance meter, so that should help.
Anything else I can try? I left the power supply hooked up and "On" all night, hopefully to warm the board up to see if it just doesn't like a cold boot... I'll find out in a minute if that works.
Thanks in advance.
