Hello!

I'm not sure what to do with my PC, a couple of days ago i plugged it in and attempted to start it and there was like a bright flash and smelled a bit burnt at the power supply. Needless to say it wouldn't start after this... upon investigating the power supply itself was kinda dusty, shame on me i know... so i obviously thought that this was the reason for the burnt up powersupply. So i ordered a new one and plugged everything in, and now when i tried to start it the pc made a fuse pop, so something is still wrong with it and i'm not quite sure what to start investigating... or even how to detect what's the problem... Please help me, holy God's of Tom. 🙂

What do i do? What might have caused the newly functioning powersupply to pop a fuse in my house?

Make sure to have the CPU connector plugged in. It is usually a 6 or 8 pin connector on the top left of the motherboard. Is the CPU Led red?

Update 4: Connected the rest of the fans to a flat 4pin connector, that worked and the fans started spinning. After that i connected the SATA cables and the flat cables for the SSD's (not sure what these are called) and its still working, been running for a minute and still runs as i speak. Now its only the graphics card left... I'm kind of scared not gonna lie, its a huge cost if its broken lol.
Be back in a bit.

Update 5: Guess what? I'm on my PC, it's fully funtional (as of now), i all USB ports works as intended, both my SSD's show and windows started as fast as usual. Not gonna call it "fixed" yet, time will tell! But i do have a theory:

As i do move my pc quite alot my old PSU might have gotten a beating or two, and this combined with the heaps of dust internally might have caused it to fail, which i BELIVE made the fuse unstable, didnt pop it at the time, but maybe it was on "it's final stretch" so once i did try to start the pc after mounting the new PSU it just popped because it couldn't handle the current. So a new fuse, and all other hardware seems to be intact, as intended!

Next up, im not sure that theres nothing wrong with the electical circuit down here in the basement, but since i've never really had any problems before with random blackouts, electricity not working etc i don't really belive that should be the problem (although i can't promise so). I just think my old PSU had a bad day, and a little too much dust particaly internally.

But yeah as of now it does work as normal, nothing have changed. I'm thinking of downloading one of those "system tests" softwares that put preasure on your system, just to be sure thought. But first of all, disconnect everything and do some cable management.

But thanks alot for all input and help/advice you guys are awesome and never disappoint. Keep up the good work, will be back here if this shit PC fails me once again ;-)
Take care!
