So on PcPartsPicker my build estimated wattage of 244.

I have seen a lot of build running a Corsair 430 watt power supply...

This is my build... Can someone recommend a better PSU or is the one i chose ok? I went with a Semi Modular so i could have a little better cable management... would love to go with a Fully modular PSU but their expensive... 🙁

Anyways, let me know what ya think, comment, explore, recommend...

Solution
For that build would this one be good enough,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cs450m
other option for having more power,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii620bronze
this last one is only necessary when wanting to upgrade to a high end gpu.

Other option for a better gpu,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/his-video-card-h270qm2g2m
the first psu would still be good with this gpu.

To save money a cheaper cpu cooler,

A different build with these (and other) changes,

If you don't want to overclock the cpu,

chose this gpu because of this thread...
Ok no problem Ez, SeaSonic 620w will do u just fine and yeah modular is always better (I know cuz my non modular wires are stuffed at the back of my enthoo pro), and no the r9 280 is recommended to have 550w powering the build with it, not 500w 😛

sorry I cannot help u with that compatibility error, hopefully Vic can, if not make a thread to be sure :)

nah its cool but thanks for all your help and knowledge 😛 and thanks for the correction to the power wattage that is req. by the 280, By the way king... get a avatar! like... the lion king or something man 😛

U can always decrease or increase voltage in the bios, but what they're saying is they're gonna automatically reduce it for u. I bought 1866 RAM sticks and it came clocked to 1600, so I had to manually create an XMP profile and change it to 1866 and they also changed the voltage automatically for me to match the 1866 (to 1.5v or something) anyways, i'm not experneice with this kinda stuff so take my word with a grain of salt

About the motherboard, with the chipset being a Z87 does it need a certain bios to support the i5 4590,the bios that will support that cpu is "1.2" and is from "2014-02-26" so can not imagine with a new board that it isn't on it,the last bios "1.4" is from "2014-07-24".The Z97 chipset should by standard support that cpu.

About the ram, when it's under 1.65V are you fine and all ddr3 is that by default.Just enable XMP in the bios and you should probably be fine.If it doesn't work is it possible that you need to add some voltage to the memory controller on the cpu.
A list that is supposed to work at the i5 4460,
http://www.pc-specs.com/cpu/Intel/Core_i5/Core_i5-4460_3.2GHz/2076/Compatible_RAM
no guarantees given of course.

The latency of cas 9 with 2133mhz ram is good.A good choice imo.

yea i wasn't too worried about the overall cpu and chipset i mean like your saying it should have the recent bios if not ill throw it against the wall and then it'll think twice before trying that number on me again. Probably not the best idea but i doubt it'll come to that.

Now on the Ram, i am actually looking up some other ones at 1.5v, what you guys are saying about the XMP... the only thing i know about that is that their indicating theirs support on these things makes me believe getting my original sticks of ram i should be fine i just need to look into this more... but as other good options listed below just for reference so i dont have to re-look

These are both Gskill, @ 1866 mhz, havent tried to put them in Pcpartspicker to see if it will take away the message but their both at 1.5v...

Both those options for ram are fine, the snipers are a very good choice, and another one,but more expensive to look at,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cml8gx3m2a1866c9r
but maybe a bit too much red?
Other ram at 1600mhz,always supported by the cpu,but with a latency of cas 8,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/crucial-memory-ble2kit4g3d1608de1tx0
tall heatspreaders though .. with the evo 212 in the case.
I still think you'll be fine with the original choice, they will run at 1600mhz@1.5 volts anyway and you could see if 1866mhz@1.5V is possible if 2133 really is going to bit too much for the cpu to handle.Your Z87M gaming motherboard is on the supported list.

For the motherboard could you also look at this one for about the same price, but you being very set on msi probably not what you're going for,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97mxgaming5
is about looks too i know, maybe you just don't like that.

Ha, Vic the Gigabyte Z97MX was the one I had as my choice at the begining of my workshift, but after reviewing, and looking at peoples comments on these two mobos comparing the two then going with MSI as a GPU then reading that MSI GPU and a MSI MOBO will cause the GPU to perform even better than it's supposed to and all the features it has and of course the sex appeal... couldn't go wrong! lol

but it was my 1st choice, now the MSI is the main. I can't believe this thread has like 28 views, and over 33 responses lmao the most active thread i have ever had 😛 I am gonna finish up some stuff here at work then head home! thanks for all the replies and help Vic and king, much appreciated :) I am going to probably buy the PSU today or tomorrow because the sale ends 1/1/15 i think... ill check again.

and im gonna do some more research on the Ram thingymabobber yea.... i know very technical :)
