please help I am putting together a new p4 3.4ghz on an asus p5ad2-e. 2Gigs of ddr 5400. & it will have a 6800 gt or ultra. The power supply that came with the case was not very good so I decided not to use it. after reading alot of reviews I had decided between antec, ocz or ultra X. I decided to go with the ultra x connect. I read on the box that it meets atx 2.03 standard. after getting it home I found out it did not have a 24p cable or adapter, which is part of the 2.03 standard. I was told to go & buy the 20-24p cable will this adapter cable make it compliant with the new standard if it was not originally designed fo the 24p cable? I really like the moduler psu but now I am thinking of sticking with an enermax. any suggestions?

The adapters do the same thing, but you probably don't need the adapter: Most 24-pin boards are capable of using the 20-pin connector (offset to one side) and the 4-pin ATX12v connector instead of a 24-pin connector.
