Question Power supply usage high?

asrock fatal1ty gaming K4 motherboard
intel i7 7700 processor
corsair TX650M power supply
16 GB hyperX RAM
860 evo samsung SSD
3 fans 2 are the ones which come with s340 NZXT case and one is corsair LL120

Hey, so my power supply % on MSI afterburner goes from like 7% when im not running anything but discord and steam is open and then when I open task manager it goes up to like 35% and then goes back down. Also when I'm playing games like overwatch my power supply % goes up to like 98% sometimes. Is this normal?

Unless you have digital PSU like Corsair RMi series or NZXT E-series, there's no way for you to monitor PSU and it's usage level.

What the "Power %" in MSI Afterburner shows is the GPU's power draw, not the PSU's power output.
Also, your system is nowhere near power hungry enough to put max load on your PSU. Max what your system at 100% load consumes is about 350W.

Is your CPU usage at 75+% when you keep task manager open or does it spike to it and then back down? If it's latter then it's normal. If it's former then it's strange that keeping track of all running applications would put such a heavy load on CPU.

open Windows Resource Monitor and choose the CPU tab, then you can see everything running on the cpu in detail

yes, it is normal it goes to about 71-75% to open Task Manager, remember, TA is using resources too. mine is doing that same thing. and I am having no performance issues whatsoever
