Question Power Surge Through Aux Cable

I was trying to set up some large speakers that required the use of an amplifier (similar to this: https://www.altomusic.com/qsc-gx3-s...MI946-iLWC4wIVx_7jBx2wMAwSEAQYASABEgLahfD_BwE ). There was a pop sound in the speakers, and now my aux port and speakers on my laptop no longer work. I'm thinking I setup the wiring wrong and somehow sent power through the aux cord. Did I short out the board for my jack? I have an XPS 13 for context.

Just for the record: what connections were in place/made at the time of the pop sound?

Devices (laptop, amp, speakers) and the audio ports that were physically connected.

I suggest that your post be moved over to Home Audio & Theater.

Primarily to address the likely results of any audio misconnections.

There are some very knowledgeable audio folks there.

First assess the likely damage and extent thereof.

Fixing/Repairing would be the next step.
