Ok, so I know this is a really dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I got the G.Skill Trident X rgb ram. Its a really nice looking stick. But it comes with an ugly sticker on it and it's on there real good! Whats the best way to remove this sticker and left behind glue residue without damaging the component?

Also, it says warranty will be voided if sticker is removed. Should I wait till the build is up an running to make sure the Ram is working properly before taking the sticker off? Is there any danger in removing a stick of Ram after its been running in the PC?

Thanks all!

If you want to make adhesive suffer, use acetone(nail polish remover is mostly acetone), but be warned it DOES melt some types of plastic. Test it on a section you do not see in case it messes with the color(I am going to poor some on a heat spreader to see what it does).

You can see how I feel about the warranty sticker(and heat spreader). Have to make it fit.

EDIT.
No damage with the ripjaws I have(heat spreader only with acetone)
A little bit of heat & some patience should do it - depending on where it's affixed, it could be easy or a right pain.

Yes; leave the sticker on until you have built and stress-tested to validate the RAM is functional.
While those "warranty void" stickers have been proven difficult to enforce legally (provided you haven't altered the product, or at least they can't prove it), it's still a pain. And really, who has time to pursue it legally over a ~$150 RAM kit?

Not, theres not danger in removing it after it's been running. Don't try to remove the sticker while the RAM module is installed or the system is on though (obviously, I hope)

I'm just curious how you can even see the side of the memory inside the case. All I see through my side window is the top of memory - those not completely hidden under the CPU cooler anyway. In any event, if you do remove the stickers and have residual adhesive, just use rubbing alcohol to remove it being careful to not get any on the connector pins.
