He's... Prince, the Artist formely known as Prince, o;-> (Love Symbol)... He has a tape buried somewhere that people will listen to in 80+ years

Simply put, he's a megalomaniac; he's disconnected from reality, thus he can't realize what the Intarwebz is about: communication. If he did, that may shatter his homocentric vision of the world.

Which also means that, yes, his CD will sell to his fan base, someone will rip+torrent it, it'll be classified as Utter Crap and forgotten.

If he really wanted his 'perfect' music 'perfectly' heard, he wouldn't go the CD way: he'd go modern vinyl (which, with static-free heads, has better resolution than the CD, especially now with how studios saturate them), or DTS on a music DVD.

He is only releasing his music on CDs??? wow he is living in the 90s. let me help him with his quote. "At one time CDs were hip and suddenly it became outdated." I guess he is trying to relive his good ol'days

well if prince says the internet will die guess its time to sell my pc... anybody interested?

AM64 at 2.8 , 2gig ram on a micro atx asus and a 8400gt graphics card... nobody .. come on my system specs are more in date than prince's music/views on digital distribution ... which isn't saying much x.x

Yes, he is so irrelevant that when he says something stupid like this, it goes all over the internet and everyone feels a need to comment about it.

I conclude, he actually IS still relevant, but everyone agrees that he could not be more wrong about the internet.

I don't particularly care for his music either, but the guy does also produce a lot of other acts as well. So he's definitely relevant.

Aww, the millionaire is sad that he doesn't get paid. This is why I refuse to listen to any music that's been deemed "popular". All they're in it for is the money.

On another since, since when does PRINCE of all people know anything about technology, and/or have any say?

I guess I'll quit doing math. It will fill my head with numbers and that can't be good. I wish Prince had told me that when I was still in school.

I don't understand why people from non-technological industries declare technological things "dead." It just makes them look foolish. Who's going to stop using the internet because Prince said so? And who's going to stop playing computer games because a film critic said they're not really art? If you look at the statistics, I'm sure more people are surfing the web and playing games than listening to Prince or Roger Ebert.

To a point, one should certainly see the point he is tryign to make. Life wasn't always gadgets, citing on front of a TV Screen or PC screen. Get outside, no NOT IN SECOND LIFE, in R E A L life. Life isn't about the latest gadgets. YOu can sit at home and masturbate to teenagers when you are 80 and alone...

As eccentric as he is i wish he would release his material on vinyl too. You can still get lucky enough to get some newer things on vinyl. sounds great. mp3 cant touch it. esp the weak bitrate stuff they release. its missing a lot of its range. they mix it anymore to sound decent on headphones so those of us with decent home systems miss out.

[citation][nom]bochica[/nom]To add onto that, when Prince checks into hotels and such, it is almost like the president, but worse. He has to have the lobbies cleared, no one else can be on the same floor as him, the windows in his room are covered with a black plastic bag or cloth, he always has a group of guys circled around him so no one can see him, and he hates getting visits/autograph requests from fans. The dude is really paranoid, which probably adds on to his hate of the internet because information is so easily shared.[/citation]

Had no idea about that...but yeah...anyone who has a brain knows that the Internet is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from over...if ever/

What I dont understand is how the internet fills my head with numbers. Granted there are ip addresses, but thats what we have dns for. I really dont type numbers at all? What internet is he on? Maybe he is typing ip addresses. That would explain why he thinks the internet sucks. "I think I will go to 27.138.22.1 today"

I can't remember the last time Prince was even relevant. Just another child trying to get people to pay him attention, somehow I doubt 'the internet' gets that upset when they can't use his music.

You have to remember that the guy is plain crazy... "it's all numbers man... ALL... NUMBERS!!!"

I don't get what Prince's problem is with iTunes... I mean, I don't like my whore ex-girlfriend, but if she'd help me make 10x more money on a product I was selling, I'd let the dumb bitch.
