I have a printer connected to my desktop computer that is not wireless. It is connected to my network via ether net to my NetGear wireless router. I have hooked up my HP printer to the desktop unit via USP and added an ethernet cable to my wireless router. I am trying to be able to print to this printer via my laptop on my network. How do I make this work?

Solution
Ensure UPnP is enabled on the router and PC sharing the printer.
As well ensure AP Isolation mode is disabled on wireless router as this will prevent network access from wireless devices on the network.

In the control panel open Devices and Printers:
start orb, search for "control printers", press enter.

Right click the printer you want to share,
Click "Printer properties". (not just properties)
Click the sharing tab.
Put a check into share this printer.
Give it a name, and ensure Render print jobs on client computers is checked if able.
Click Okay.

On the wireless PC In the control panel open Devices and Printers:
start orb, search for "control printers", press enter.

Right click a blank area of the window
Click Add Devices and...

Wait for the device to be listed.
Select the printer from the list and click next.
You may need to download the drivers for the printer from the manufacturer's website.
Some driver installs will also automatically detect networked/shared printers to install.
