[SOLVED] Printer Keeps Rebooting When Connected To the Internet

I have an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP. The printer continually reboots when it is connected to the internet. The error message that comes up is "79 Service Error, turn off then on." This doesn't happen when the printer is USB connected. I think it started after Google Chrome was updated. What can be done to resolve this?

Start by:

Try a another known working Ethernet cable.

Try the applicable HP printer factory reset.

Then try the steps in the first link (HP - Knowledge Base, 79 Errors).

Failing that - contact HP Support.

I ended up doing a factory reset. I was able to get the printer connected to the wired network without it crashing but for some reason, the wireless connection would not work even though it was connected (kept showing up at 169.254.X.X). The printer drivers were re-installed and so far so good.
