Question Prioritize APU over GPU

I've recently built a new computer Ryzen 5 5600G, MSI B550M pro Motherboard.

I've tried searching but can not find my scenario. I am currently rocking the APU till I can afford a decent dedicated GPU. I however have acquired an older High end "I think" Nvidia Quadro 4000 and was hoping I could install it just for rendering type stuff such as Blender, meshmixer, DazStudio, Unity ect. And that's the kind of things quadros like to chew on. But still use my APU as the main display graphics driver.

The quadro is a bit old for sure, maybe the ryzen APU since it's much newer is actually better for rendering Blender ect. I don't know.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Is this the workstation GPU you're referring to;
?

But still use my APU as the main display graphics driver.
If you have dual monitor setup, you can have your daily tasks like web browsing on the panel hooked to the APU, while the secondary display that's used for rendering work can be hooked to the discrete GPU.

Personally, I'd try and work with the APU as is, then save money for something more concurrent.
