So when i first built my pc, i had one ramstick plugged in the 2nd slot and the pc was running fine when one day it just started to work suspicious. I couldn't shutdown my pc without force shutdown. So i brought my pc to the repairs and supposedly it was a ram issue. They changed my ram to a dual slot into the 2nd and 4th slot. They told me that the pc is fine now and works as it should.

I started playing some games and i got BSOD very often. My drivers were all up to date, windows update aswell. Pretty much everything was up the date. I just kept getting BSOD while gaming.

I switched the ram sticks to 1st and 3rd ram slots and i haven't got a BSOD since. My pc is running perfectly, for almost a year now since the BSOD's.

But now i want to upgrade my ram to 16gb, because i have 4gb x 2 and i want to put another 2 x 4gb in. And i dont know what to expect. Clearly it isn`t a GPU problem.

What should i do?

Make and model of your motherboard and the slot you've populated with the sticks of ram(as labelled on your motherboard manual)? What BIOS version are you currently on? Make and model of your PSU? You might want to look into a 2x8GB ram kit.

gigabyte geforce gtx 1050ti
Kingston SSD 240 GB (sata)
Western digital HDD 1TB
evga 500w 80plus PSU
Windows 10 op

BIOS version - American Megatrends Inc. P3.30, 10.05.2019

My ramsticks now are in the 1st and 3rd slot.

Ram

The mobo manual shows which slots to use if you have 1/2/4 sticks of ram.

It also shows how the ram slots are labeled.

It would be best to get an exact match for the ram kit you have now.
