I have a Dell Inspiron 600 laptop computer. I can't install my new HP
Officejet 7310xi all-in-one printer. I was on the phone for two hours
with HP. THey couldnt solve the problem. I had a bad experience with
Dell Support on another problem, so I don't imagine they can help.
WHen I try to install the HP driver on my computer using the cd rom the
process seems to be going along well. THen when I get to step 3 of 4
the installation speed - the KPS rate - starts slowing down until it
hits zero.
I tried downloading the driver from the HP website. THat got the
printer working with the computer, but not the scanner of fax. It also
created another problem. I couldnt boot up my computer as long as the
USB cable was attached to the printer.
HP sent us a new driver software cdrom. But that is no better than the
one that came with the machine. Can anyone help me?
thanks
