Hey guys! I've got a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250gb.
Recently I've installed AOMEI and tried to 'migrate OS to SSD' which I'm told works really well. However, while I can see the SSD before clicking on 'migrate OS to SSD', it does not appear on the selections afterwards.
Please help!

I'd suggest you to start from scratch and clean install Windows on the SSD! However, make sure you have...
Welcome to the community, RunStraight!

I'd suggest you repeat the procedure of migrating the OS to the SSD using a different cloning software. However, make sure you backup all your important data from the computer somewhere off-site before tampering with the storage configuration. This way you'd be able to avoid any potential data loss.

You can refer to some cloning software suggestions from the forum
and use a step-by-step guide, if needed.

Good luck & Keep me posted if you need further assistance! :)

Hey guys, thanks for the quick responses!
I'm a tad bit confused though.

This is a new computer and as you can see I'm not the most knowledgeable of folks when it comes to computers.
I installed my OS on my HDD instead of my SSD.
Is there no way i can migrate JUST the OS?

If not, What would be the best way?
Not sure if I'm reading it wrong but the guides seem to point out that you need to remove your source disk after migration in order to boot the PC whereas I want to keep my source disk because its fine. I've just make a mistake with the location of the OS.

Once again, thank you and sorry for being a nub.

O.K. No you can't migrate, (clone), part of the disc. What else do you have on the hdd that you don't want on the SSD? Delete anything that you don't want on the SSD after clonig. It is a new machine. After a successful cloning, disconnect the hdd and set the boot drive in the BIOS to the SSD. After rebooting you can reconnect the hdd and do whatever you want to with it.
W.P.

I'd suggest you to start from scratch and clean install Windows on the SSD! However, make sure you have only the SSD plugged to the motherboard at this point! If you have both drives connected, you will encounter an OS confusion that will give you even more booting issues.
Once you have Windows up and running from the SSD, connect the HDD and reformat it from Disk Management. If you need more assistance with the step-by-steps, I'd suggest you check this detailed OS install & Optimization guide for your SSD and HDD.

Hope it helps. Keep us posted if you have more questions! :)

Hey guys thanks for helping out!
I went with the reformat suggestion as this is a new computer and it wouldn't take much time anyway.
Disconnect the HDD, reformated, Plugged the HDD back in and formatted the HDD. Walla!
