are you aware that the $750 blueray player for your PC doesnt play video disks?

Uhm... what do you mean? I think you are wrong about that. If the Blu-Ray player for PC doesn't play video discs wouldn't it be useless? Check this BD player out:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827131034

And read reviews about it where people are talking about playing Blu-Ray videos on their PCs. You can even get a patch for PowerDVD player to play them. Still maintaining your earlier statement? 😀

Go back to what you do best... eating Micky D's and gettin' sick 😛.

In WMV HD for 1080P (which is BluRay quality) you are probably looking at 8400 MB per 2 hours of movie. How do I figure? Check this out:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/musicandvideo/hdvideo/contentshowcase.aspx

Example: Coral Reef Adventure (IMAX)
Time: 1:45 min
Size for 1080P: 105 MB
Time for 2 hours of playback: ~8,400 MB (105 MB x 80 = 8,400 MB. 1:45 min x 80 = 140 min)

When DivX first came out I remember when videos were like 2GB a video I freaked out. Now, 2GB doesn't sound that bad. With 750GB HDDs you could store around 91 1080P videos per HDD. That's not incredibly bad. Know what I mean? 😀

Anyway, I agree with you in a sense. For most practical use, you won't want to preserve the quality of Blu Ray.

Oh, and my other point is that you were spouting off about not being able to play video on Blu Ray drives on your PC, which was just plain wrong.

(BTW, I don't want to start a flame war because you're OK, I'm just trying to point out the facts. And I don't support blu ray at all and think HD-DVD is the way to go myself. Mostly because Sony has been pissing me off lately.)

its vacuumes not vaccums.

and kaotao, dont ever say ME in these forums. We never want to go back to windows ME ever ever again.
OK...

A: I can't believe you're criticizing somebody for spelling. Spelling errors run rampant in these forums all the time! People can't even spell the word "the" half of the time, and you're knocking kaotao for "vacuumes"? Haha.

B: Your tech joke was really stretching it... 😛
