i have big problem of viewing folders within flash drive. i click computer. but folders within flash drive are not showing up. it takes a while for folders to show. i have a lot of folders to sift through.
this has happened frequently. iam running a few portable programs so maybe thats partly to blame? any hints to resolve this would be nice

"compaq presario F700 series"
AMD turion 64x2
1.95GB out of 220GB
32-bit O.S.
x86

Windows 10 doesn't have the checkboxes any more. If it finds a problem in the quick scan, it asks to repair it.
The best way, as usual, is the command line chkdsk, but not everyone is comfortable with a TUI.

I beleive op mentioned 32bit OS in the first post...

its windows vista. old..old pc. bought way before there were smartphones and tablets. as for this problem, when iam online, i keep the specific drive open so that i can download or retreive something with ease. iam going to run error checking maybe by tomorrow and see what results there is.

thx for replies. i havent run chkdsk yet. but ive downloaded the sentinel program. i may try it out maybe over the weekend and see whats going on in HDD. this is still an ongoing problem > not resolved yet. i will get back after run the program and report my findings

but you need to get hold of the full version...pm me for tht if u want...

this is a step by step instruction... http://www.m3datarecovery.com/data-recovery/online-help...

the method you should be looking for is..."How to recover deleted or lost partition?"....
it is towards the middle of the instruction page...

this program sounds like its similair to "recuva" but more advanced hmm

its the same thing again. only this time when try open up a window, it displays as blank. it takes up to 38 secs till everything loads. i did a factory reset last year btw. as well as 2 minor BSOD instances. my pc will celebrate 8 year anniversary come july 4th. its virutually hanging by thin life line. its like iam giving it CPR when i know its dying slowly.

imho, i didnt lose any precious data. even when i faced BSODS. im one of the lucky ones. this problem will become moot after i get a newer pc
