Hi all
A few months ago, I replaced my mother board with the same type - msi x570a pro, also upgraded the CPU to a AMD Ryzen 9 5950x
Im running windows 10
I could not log into the PC because every time i tried to enter password, it would automatically enter a random number of characters and lock up, but fortunately it would accept the usb bitlocker key
After this, it would occasionally have the same probelm, but most of the time accepted my password, which I had changed during the process of things, I also, made a second usb copy using bitlocker, but found it did not work, and only the original would
Yesterday, I thought it would be wise to make a copy of the original bitlocker key on a different computer from the usb stick, and compared the original to the second usb I made, and they were exactly the same??
But on trying his morning, I could not log into the PC, and it was giving the same problem of automatically generating characters and locking up, so I put in the original usb bitlocker key, and it would just show a black screen with a cursor flashing. (first time this has happened) seems that inserting the usb into a different computer had done something to it?
After many attempts with the bitlocker keys and trying to enter the password manually, it finally accepted my password and I opened windows
I am afraid, its going to happen again, and I will not be able to get into my PC
Hope I have described things clearly here, and someone can advise what could be the problem, and what should I do?
Thanks

Get rid of bitlocker.
Why are you even using it?
Thanks for reply
I installed bitlocker around 4 years ago, after my network had been hacked, as I believed it adds additional layers of security against hackers
I have not restarted my PC from the last time I posted, but for some reason my system now will not recognise the usb with the bitlocker key, (says it is unrecognisable) but my other computer will open it no problem?
To safeguard not having the problem of not being able to access my computer, I would like to uninstall bit locker, but I am afraid by doing so, it may create other problems of accessing my data
Any further advice very much welcome

It doesn't protect against hacking from network.

It protects against data being accessible, if somebody removes HDD/SSD from your computer and steals it or
if they steal entire computer.

It makes sense to have bitlocker, if you store some commercial or government secrets on your computer (or something illegal).
Other than that it's not really of any use to a normal person.

TLDR - get rid of bitlocker.

Backed up my system to an external HD, and I will attempt to uninstall bitlocker
I checked the HD on another computer, and all files are readable. I am surprised, as I would have thought as bitlocker is supposed to encrypt all data, I am able to open everything on a different computer without bitlocker? Just a little confused with this??

Bitlocker key is probably stored in cloud.
If you use same microsoft account on both computers, then you get access to bitlocker key on both computers also.
