Question Problem with Chromecast/Tivimate/USB drive ?

I have tried several how to videos with no luck. I have a Chromecast connected to a USB-C adapter dongle. I have a 4tb USB hard drive plugged into that.

I have been able to get the USB drive to show up in the Chromecast. But, my main reason I wanted it was to DVR off tivimate. I am able to dvr one show and then it is out of room. I tried moving tivimate to the hard drive in case that helped but there was no change.

Possibly I need to attach it as smb. But. I am not sure how to determine the location/ address if the hard drive attached to chromecast.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for the response. I had watched this and it doesn't work for me. In fact many of the lines it say to select are not even there on mine. All I can figure is maybe it is the hard drive I have. But it seems odd that the Chromecast sees it. Thanks for the attempt though.
