Hi everyone, I have just build my PC about a week ago. Anyway, everything was Okay until I played "The Watcher 3". When I play The Watcher 3 about 2-3 mins of starting the game, my screen became black and my GPU fans were at 100% speed. I could hear the game sounds from my headset at that moment.
However, I have waited for 3 minutes for my system to come back, but it didn't, so I had to press the power button to turn off my system then restart it. And after my system boot there was flickering in my screen and to solve that I had to go to NVIDIA control panel and decrease my monitor refresh-rate from 144hz to 100hz then I can increase it to 144hz without any problem.

My GPU drive is 372.90
My system is windows 10 pro 64 bit last update
My bios is updated

My PC parts:
i7 6800k - not overclocked
H115i
Asus strix x99 gaming mobo
Evga GTX 1080 FTW - not overclocked
G.skill 2*8 16gb Ram
Power Supply Evga 850w G2
Samsung evo 850 250gb
SSHD seagate 2Tb
Dell S2716DG 1440p - 144hz - G-sync

Solution
"Dell S2716DGR 27"/144hz/G-sync/1440p
EVGA GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0

I noticed the flicker while playing Witcher 3 and Overwatch, usually during gameplay it was fine.. But if I opened up any menu, map or etc. it would flicker. I started to notice this also during browsing (Video shows this).

I haven't tried all of the fixes posted here, and haven't even used the hotfix. All I've done is gone into the 3d settings in the NVIDA control panel, and turned Vsync off globally. I now VERY rarely see the flicker now, every once and a while i'll see it for a split second.

So it's still there for me, but I very rarely see it now."

That's a direct quote from the Nvidia fourms...

This is a documented issue with the 1080's there was a hotfix patch awhile back I'm not sure if it's dated now or not but you can also try dro]ig your refresh rate on your monitor from 144hz to 60hz where modt people say they experience no problems.

That is a link to the discussion. The flickering is a documented issue with the 1080's that nvidia has acknowledged. You can try turning off your Vsync or you can try lowering the refresh rate on your monitor first.
