Question Problem with keyboard, have to press key ten times for it to appear

Hi, I have a problem with the keyboard on my dell cos 9550 laptop, I have ten to press a key about 10 times for it to register.

Initially onboot it is working normally and then after a minute or so I have this problem

Any ideas?

tried a clean boot?

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows


if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

update: this didn't go to plan, I managed to disable the login with pin service and now it's asking for a password which I managed to login once with but not again and now I'm locked out of my account and can't do anything

any idea how I can reset my password as I have important data I need so can't reset the laptop
