hai all, i have big major problem with my set pc. i use:

motherboard: gigabyte GA-K8NE
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 2.06 GHz, 512 KB
Video: Powercolor ATI radeon x550
RAM: apacer DDR 3200 512mb x2 (1Gb)

my problem is when i play games like NFS most wanted , doom 3 & age of empire 3. the games always get lag.. the move always get stuck n stuck.. like game NFS most wanted i set low viedo option.. its get same result.

what i have to change..? viedo card 6600GT or mainbaord or both..?

"...the games always get lag.. "

Are you referring to stuttering framerates/slowdowns, or sound out of sync with video?

An X550 is a low performance solution for 3d gaming...

Try to sell it off, or use it for an office/e-mail machine, and slap in a $209 6800GS or X800 GTO.....

yeah the frames is slow n sometimes its like fastfoward the move.

how about 6600GT.. isit batter..? coz i dont have much money to land at 6800gs :)

The 6600GT is definitively going to improve your gaming for sure.. Make sure that you'll clean out any trace of ATI drivers before installing the nvidia card

Or, a nice ATIx1600xt should do good too, if you want to remain with ATI, and should be in the same price range than the 6600gt

between both, I would get the x1600xt. based on the latest ATI chipset, it has Avivo image enhencer and up to date feature compared to the "older" 6600 GPU.

 Either lower visual and sound quality or try to upgrade .i played some demanding games with an overcloked celeron. try to overclock good guides at Tomshardware

Pat i confuse with this parts.
GV-RX16T256V-RH Gigabyte ATI x1600XT

and

GV-RX16P256D-RH Gigabyte ATI x1600 PRO

HIS X1600XT IceQ Turbo DL-DVI, DVI 256MB

The gigabyte x1600xt is the one I'll probably get because it has a heat pipe (you cannot imagine how nice a quiet computer is) and VIVO.

So, if you can afford it, get it. Or if there is version without VIVO, and you don't need to capture any video with your computer, then get this one as it may be cheaper
