Problem with my RAM slot?!

My computer starts up and all I get is a blank screen and a continuous beep! I checked my motherboard's manual and interpreted the beep message as "Memory Installation Error" So I reinserted my RAM and even tried replacing it with a new one and it was still the same! So, I'm guessing there is a problem with the RAM slot itself. My motherboard has two memory slots and one of the slots stopped working a long time ago! So, it might be possible that this time the second slot went out as well!

So, here's my question :

Is it definitely the RAM slot or could it might be some other problem ?

Also, could the RAM slot be repaired or do I have to buy a new motherboard?

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
_
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA M61PME S2 (6 Year Old)
_
RAM - AData 4GB DDR2 667 MHz

To ensure that the problem is not with the PSU, I have checked the rail voltage readings with a DMM. Here are the readings (without any load) -
RED = 5.24 V
BLUE = -11.08 V
ORANGE = 3.22 V
GRAY = 5.21 V
PURPLE = 5.11 V
YELLOW = 11.97 V

Solution
Clean the slot's insides via small brushes then reinstall!
The motherboard is pretty messed up so i recommend changing it either way
***Update***
I do understand that it's quite old and I don't use it much anyway; even when I do, it's just for trying out lightweight Linux distros, experiments and stuff like that. I do have a hi-fi laptop for all other purposes!
.
I just need to know if there's some way to get the RAM slot repaired?

Thanks
