its really hard to know without having the machine in front of you...their is no wax on wax off to overclocking so its not all the same..you can have 2 identical CUPs but they might behave different to certain voltages......i learned to make them most stable by trial and error.....mostly due to voltages lol

well I just installed my Q6600 last night I'm 9*400mhz 3.6 @ core 1.37v. Idle 42C
CM Hyper 212 GB p45-ud3r Wintec @800mhz
loadline calibration on. RAM @ 800mhz. will stress test soon. tommorow likely im off to work right away.
I will let you know. Anything else you wanna know.

PS thanks to JSC just like you said absolutely no different than core2duo

increasing voltages does not overclock the GHz on a processor tho.....adding more voltage makes your system more stable when you overclock

Hi again

Well I've figured that I need a better PSU because a friend of mine happens to have exactly the same motherboard, similar ram and q6600 OC'ed to 3,3. The only difference is that he has gts250 and a better PSU.

But anyway - I'm workin on stable 3.0 (confirmed with a lot of games and Prime95). But in this month I got blue screen 2 times with dumping physical memroy. Weird is that it wasn't while playing (and even not just after it) or anything but while browsing the internet.

What do you think it can be? Maybe it's just something wrong with my system? (vista)

my roomate was having similar issues with his system. @ 3.3Ghz it would run prim95 and surf the net and watch movies just fine......then randomly it would just blue screen. I think he added a bit more voltage and got it stable stable. His new solution......i7 980X build

Haha well it wasn't a "solution" for this issue - i just wanted a new build xD!~
