I recently purchased a 3.5" SATA enclosure for my hard drive, connected the hard drive to the enclosure, but when I power it up and connect it to my pc via USB, it connects and disconnects every 10-20 seconds, the partitions on my drive never show up but i can tell its disconnecting because of the hardware alert noise. I am currently running windows XP, the hard drive i used was in an older enclosure i had, but the usb2.0 connection at the back of it became damaged. It is really frustrating, I’ve tried going into device manger and un-ticking the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" under the usb root hubs, but this hasn’t worked. any ideas of how to fix this problem would be appreciated.
