Problem with SSD

Hi guys

I have a ITX build with an aerocool 400W PSU (pc 1 month old). I took my computer apart to sort out cable management and now I have this error popping up and does not let me boot into windows 7.

"Reboot and Select proper Boot Device"

P.S. Today I replaced the PSU's fan with a better quality one. Is there any chance that the problem is caused by the PSU? Before I took apart my pc the new fan and PSU were working fine.

Update: I have connected my SSD externally to my laptop an I can access and browse all files. The disk is also healthy (as seen from disk mgmt).

you took it apart? afterwards did you verify the boot order in the BIOS?

If you plugged the SSD into a different SATA port then the system is trying to boot off the old SATA port and finding nothing. You have to tell the system that you moved the hard drive and to try that location first. In the BIOS verify the boot order.

If you plugged the SSD into a different SATA port then the system is trying to boot off the old SATA port and finding nothing. You have to tell the system that you moved the hard drive and to try that location first. In the BIOS verify the boot order.

I have only one hard drive connected and that is the SSD. I have another 2x1TB disks which I removed as well.

Yes it gets recognised. And I have connected the disk externaly with my laptop, and it is healthy. I can also browse all files.

have you tried booting from another drive, ie one from your laptop?
if the ports are good and the ssd is good and the cables are good, this makes me look to the motherboard.

I highly doubt that your PSU could run the system but not the SSD unless the power cable is damaged.

Have you reset the CMOS to defaults and re-setup the BIOS config anew?

That looks more like a mobo issue unless the cable for the ssd isn't giving power for whatever reason.

I would try a windows disk and do startup repair that could fix it

That looks more like a mobo issue unless the cable for the ssd isn't giving power for whatever reason.

My ITX does not have a dvd drive.

the old laptop drive will verify if the motherboard has an issue, the fact that it has xp is good, it should at least attempt to boot and that is all we need to determine if we are on the right track. if the old drive is not sata then you might have an issue unless you have some IDE cables around and a 2.5-3.5 inch ide adaptor

Right so this morning I connected my ssd with one of my hdd and the pc booted up. I am just wonderibg if any boot files have been copied on to my hdd (I have win 7 installed on my ssd). This is really weird..

I have found the solution. For some reason the Windows 7 system reserved partition was created on my HDD rather than my SSD. Thanks for the help anyway guys!

That's really strange. I didn't even know Windows would even let you do that.

probably why no one thought of it
