Problem with the 1060 6GB GAMING X

Hey guys,

So I bought the 1060 gaming x, and fitted it in today.

Although what I have realised is that when I load up a program such as geforce experience or any program really, the GPU base goes over 1k and boost goes to like 1.9k, all it is is loading a program.. why?

I've changed my power settings in nvidia control panel to optimal power.

Because some GPU muscle is needed therefore it ramps up. As long as it downclocks automatically this is a non-issue.

If you can play game, your system doesn't crash, and the performance is there... why do you care?

Jump in peak performance happens during spike of required resources, I would not be bother one bit.

My Gaming X 1060 6GB does the same thing and so would any GPU. Every time it is put under any kind of load even for a quick second it should jump to it's base clocks or above then come down again when the load is gone. Perfectly normal.

When I'm gaming my 1060 normally uses a 1.9k mhz boost, basically always. Then 4k normal mhz, is that normal?
