Hey there. Whenever I turn my camera, the slower the more noticeable, my game gets really choppy. If anyone has has a similar problem or could help me, let me know please. Lowering settings does not help.

GTX 570

Just reformatted, all drivers up to date.

Not even sure if it's a Graphics Card issue, or not, but yea. I'll run and post anything needed.

Edit: It's not only WoW. It happens in Skyrim too. I don't remember it really happening in GW2 and SWtOR, but their cameras were a lot different. Just slower, really.

I dont really get what you mean when you say turn the camera...I think what you could be experiencing is screen tearing. this happens when your fps is different from your refresh rate of your monitor. your monitor refresh rate is probably 60hz so any fps other than that will cause screen tearing when you move the on screen display around. it creates like jaggy edges and stuff. to prevent this you could enable vsync in game. this will cap your fps at 60...see if that solves your issue.

Basically the game looks great if I'm standing still or running in a straight line, but the second I turn the camera with the mouse in Skyrim and WoW, it gets choppy and skippy, almost. It looks like the fps is dropping a lot, but it doesn't according to Fraps. I didn't really notice it happening in GW2 and SWtOR, but the camera in that game is a lot slower, so I don't know. Still haven't installed those two to test it again.

Turned it to On in the control panel and Enabled it ingame, still same problem.

Yep, I've tried the newest beta driver 306.02 and 304.79 and the WQHL Test 301.42

Edit: Wiped and clean installed when trying new ones too.

UPDATE: Basically, whenever I'm running straight or not moving, the game is fine. Looks great. Whenever I turn my camera though, it gets really choppy and skippy and looks as if fps drops. The thing is, the fps doesn't drop, at least not much. It never goes under 100 in leveling zones and never under 40 even when in the middle of the Auction House on a busy server.

It shouldn't look this choppy when turning and I don't know if it's my Graphics Card or something else.

Will take me a bit to download, but I will.

So I tried out my old ATI HD 4670 and it's still doing it! It can't be a Graphics Card problem then. What does that leave? Maybe CPU or Monitor?

I realized now that this topic is in the wrong section since it's not a Graphic problem.

its ok it doesnt need to move sections lol....i think its just a monitor thing...not really an issue (ie faulty) but maybe you just have really sensitive eyes for tearing. To make sure that its not the monitor you can try hooking another monitor/tv up to your system to rule that out.

I'll look around after class today. See what I can do.

The monitor is not the problem I'm starting to believe. Hooked it up to my TV 1920x1080 at 60Hz and set to PC mode. Same problem.

I am starting to notice how long it takes things to load sometimes though. When I loaded into Stormwind, a fountain didn't show up for about 5 seconds and I saw no people until I flew in and got a lot closer... Maybe this is where the problem is? What could be causing this? CPU? As I said before, I already made it so no cores park and my computer and Nvidia are set to Best Performance.

Edit: Another example is when I flew above the ship that's right above Stormwind, in the Northern Elwynn Mountains, none of the NPCs or Objects loaded until after I flew down and landed on it. They probably would have loaded after a couple more seconds, but still, 5 - 6 seconds to load something when I'm standing right there? 😵

Lol I been meaning to ask you is your avatar a picture of you being confused? Haha.......maybe if you monitor hdd usage while you are in game....see if its at 100% all the time or something weird that could lead to textures not loading and crap like this...also when you hooked your tv up to your pc did you use a different cable then the one you use to hook up your monitor?

Hmm, I flew around for about 5 minutes and this is what it says: http://i.imgur.com/SF6Fz.jpg

Also, I used an HDMI cord instead of the DVI I normally use with my monitor.

I'm wondering if it's just you are sensitive to 60hz. I find with a 60hz monitor, turning makes everything look choppy (not really the laggy type of choppy, but you see scrambled images). However, with a 120hz monitor, you get a lot more images, and it's much smoother.

Another possible issue, which may be related to how Skyrim handles the mouse, is the mouse polling rate. If you have a real cheap mouse that has a slow polling rate, the game will get updated mouse positions much less often, causing a bit of an issue. Skyrim compounds this by not using your mouse drivers for position, but polls for mouse changes, then calculates its position based on how fast the mouse is moving one direction or another (this creates a laggy feel to me). This seems to show up in a lot of console ports. I hate it.

I've had the same monitor for a long time, but not a computer this good. I bought this monitor with my last computer that I only spent 500 dollars on and never had a problem running on Good/High.

I did get a new mouse recently because my gaming one died. I went from the Logitche MX518 to a M705. The M705 is wireless and definitely not a gaming mouse. I hate it. :|

^^ I am in the same boat as you I am very sensitive to 60hz refresh rate feels way different and "choppier" than 120hz monitors....once you go 120hz you never go back lol......and valrath your hdd usage looks normal. what bystander is saying is totally possible your cpu usage and hdd usage look normal and i dont think they are causing the issue.

If you can find a good gaming mouse to test, you may find it smooths things out some. A cheap wireless mouse is going to have choppy turning in comparison to a good gaming mouse.
