[SOLVED] Processor at 100%(while gaming) goes to 400mhz and laging, below 100% usage its on 3700mhz

I just buy hp 15 ec gaming laptop
Specs
R5 3550H
16gb ddr4 2400
Gtx 1650
1tb hdd

After i see lag first i installed another 8gb ram of same speed to get for 16gb total ram,
But even after that now what happen is game runs super smooth and cpu usage is below 100 fluctuating and cpu speed at 3700mhz check via MSI AFTERBURNER, but when cpu touches 100% cpu speed drops to 400mhz for 3-5secs (at fps 15-20)and after that cpu usage goes below 100 and cpu speed also goes to 3700mhz but game lagges very badly in those 4-5secs, and it happens after 1-3mins, laptop power plan is high-performance mode and is on charging while gaming, pls help

Although i watched on YouTube for same laptop model gameplay all games runs fine with cpu at 3700mhz constant, no lag nothing is there.

I really stressed as i just bought this laptop and even after the ram upgrade it is not performing well😭

Do your fans go crazy when it slows down? It could be that it is overheating and throttling the CPU.

I agree with @barnyard80 that it is most likely thermal throttling. Download HWMonitor from CPUID. This is an excellent tool for monitoring system temps, voltages, power, utilization and more. Just look into the temperature subsection of the R5 3550H. So have it run in the background, play some games until this phenomenon occurs, then check back into the "Max" column of temps. If it's above 80 C, not necessarily thermal throttling, but you should try to find a way to keep it cooler. When it's starting to get into the 100 C range is when thermal throttling is very clearly the culprit.

No, even am sitting in quit room no fan noise, but my gpu1(vega8) temperature is around 90-95 but cpu temp is not show i will let u know cpu temps also, let me check

Is that on idle or while gaming? But that temp is pretty high and could results on thermal throttling that can makes the CPU core drops down.

I'm aware that your fans aren't working as how it's suppose to. Maybe you want to check if your fans is working by downloading SpeedFan.

Your fans are not working mate, you might have accidently unplugged them while installing the RAM stick

Those temps aren't good at all. Could totally be thermal throttling. Assuming fans are plugged in(and spinning at all), then just change the CPU fan curve in the BIOS. Would recommend 100% once it's 80 C, with anything below 65 C being about 25-45%. GPU fan curves should be found in your NVIDIA drivers. Could be case too though, so adjust case fan curves to be similar as well.

Am just checking and change the in-game resolution to 1600x900 and, the temp Drops to 60-80 and thermal throttling is no more, but can anyone tell me only with resolution the problem almost resolved for all games.😲, And i also checked fans yesterday the are working fine.

Certainly if/when res/details/quality are cranked up, the load will be more shifted/dependent on the GPU, typically lowering CPU load somewhat....

rtx 2070super with i7 10700k 100 cpu usage in cs go and warzone new pc was good for 2 weeks than this happened can u help no thermal issues at all only usage 100% cpu 66 degrees c max and gpu 56 degress c all the time and fps drop after 20 min or so gameplay but no overheating at all from 400fps to 100 or less plz help
