I want to upgrade to an i5/i7 processor, but I am sort of confused as CPU-Z recognizes it as:
Package (platform ID) Socket 989 rPGA

Some people say that it should be Socket 988 rPGA and that any CPU will work as long as it is rPGA988/989?

Also does the H55 chipset support 4 physical cores?

Solution
Any CPU that is rPGA 988/989 would be physically compatible, however if the motherboard of the device supports it is another question. Usually the motherboard is fine with a CPU replacement, but in select cases a manufacturer may lock you out.

For instance, I upgraded one of my laptops from a Dual core i5, to a quad core i7 processor without any issues at all; however, upon changing the WiFi card, the system would no longer boot due to an "unapproved" part being detected. (Unlocked BIOS was needed)

---So, in short it should be fine to upgrade the CPU, but there is a VERY small chance that the motherboard BIOS may not accept it. To be extra sure, what brand laptop is it?

One thing I know for sure is that I need a CPU with a integrated GPU, as the Mboard does not have any space left for other components.
I found a website which shows the compatible processors

An i7 640M or i5 560M would probably work I think

All of those processors have built in integrated graphics, so you should indeed be fine to choose a pin compatible CPU without hassle.
