programs using more memory than they should

(before I start I'm just gonna say that I have 8gb of ram if anyone is wondering) Two days ago I updated my drivers, and after I restarted my pc I tried launching For Honor and the game didn't even launch so I tried launching it again and I got a black screen for a minute or two, and the game crashed again after about an hour of trying to fix it I gave up and I tried to play black ops 4 and battle.net couldn't even launch. So at this point, I thought I messed up while I was installing my drivers so I reinstalled my drivers and I still couldn't launch any games so I opened up task manager and it turns out that my browser (Vivaldi) was using 504 MBS of my memory! before it never went over 150k and steam was using 202 Mb, and even small programs like discord are using 100k+ Mb of memory. And I don't know how to fix this.

The only way to regain the memory taken up by those applications is to close them.
Easiest way is task manager if they are set to start up with windows.

In windows.
CTRL + ALT + DELETE brings op blur screen click on start task managet.
Go to the applications tab at the top.
Close everything before starting you game. close task manager last.
