Question Projection not working/Second Screen

Hello,

So I have my main desktop computer, running a 32 inch screen, hence no room on my desk to have a second monitor.

So I thought I'd use my laptop as a second screen, to try and counteract this. I used the Windows 10 projection feature in order to attempt this, and it worked for a short while before it began showing "Something went wrong with the projection". Both running the same windows version, both running the same OS, both running the same graphics drivers (Both intels & Nvidias.) - So I thought I needed to try a new method (unless someone here can help me fix this.)

My Laptop has a HDMI port, my PC only has 1 HDMI, 3x DisplayPorts and 1x DVI. If I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable, connected this from my PC to my Laptop, would this work?

Thanks.

This won't work. The HDMI port on your laptop is output only.
Best guess would be that your WiFi network channel has too much traffic. How many other WiFi networks are in your area?

Quite a few, however, my PC is running on Ethernet and my laptop on the Wifi which that PC ethernet is on. It was working yesterday, then my laptop updated and my PC didn't, it then stopped working. I then updated the PC to the same Windows update, graphics drivers the same and updated and no luck.

If there are a lot of WiFi networks running on the same channel, it might cause enough interference to the point where you loose connectivity. If it was stable for a period of time (say a few weeks) and then it wouldn't connect after an update, then I would suspect the update. It's not uncommon for an MS update to completely bork one of the less common applications. If you got it working once and then it was never stable again, I'd expect a WiFi issue.

Can you roll both systems back to before the update and see if it works again?
