[SOLVED] Projector not displaying with adapter

Hi!

I have a new Optoma projector which only has HDMI inputs (the old one was VGA).

I have a VGA cable running from the computer, into a VGA to HDMI adapter, which goes into the projector.

It still won't display anything, it doesn't say no signal like it does to the second HDMI port but it just continues to search and display nothing.

The cable does work fine as well

Any help would be appreciated thankyou!

you need to check that your adapter is vga to hdmi or hdmi to vga because two of those are different
if it is the hdmi to vga ones it will have male hdmi

If your computer has an available digital output, use that instead. The problem is likely the conversion from an analog signal (VGA) to a digital one (HDMI). If your computer has an available DVI or DisplayPort (or another HDMI), use that instead.

Thanks, you were right! Not sure why I didnt realise that.
The PC only has a display port and VGA output whereas the projector only has a HDMI input.
Do you know what adapted i could get to resolve this issue? Thanks!!
