[SOLVED] Projector not working

Hi,
I have a projector with only VGA female ports. I bought an adaptor (VGA male to HDMI female) which i plug in to my projector and the other end goes to my laptop via HDMI cable. But it is not working. Have any ideas?

Your adapter need to be an active adapter to convert the digital HDMI signal to an analog VGA signal that your projector can recognize. Active adapters typically start around $20 here in the US. Three questions:

Looks like that laptop has a VGA output. Do you get an image from your projector if you just use a direct VGA cable from the laptop to the projector?

Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, it does works with a direct VGA cable.

Then I'd say the issue is likely the adapter and don't recommend using it. Just stick with VGA.
