So I have an old Acer v203h monitor and a Ps3 super slim with around 12 gb. My monitor only has a VGA input and the problem is that my ps3 can’t connect with that. So i bought a converter that is from HDMI to VGA. And i hooked it up on my ps3 and it said “Input not supported”.
I tried to change the resolution settings of the ps3 by holding the power button and i heared the second beep. the monitor turned off and back on but still it said”Imput not supported”. What do i do now?

Specifications of my Monitor:
19 inch
5ms
1600x900
VGA only

this is btw a link to my monitor and the cable i bought.

is that a powered device or is it passive? does it have a small USB port on it?
a passive device will not work well if at all. the processor inside (digital to analog converter) needs power to work. the powered units have been far more reliable in my experience.

what do you mean by passive or powered? It does not have a USB port on it. It is hdmi vga only. And the converter has an aux for your headphones. My english is not very good. Can you explain me what do you mean with the processor inside needs power to work? what kind of power?

HDMI is digital
VGA is analog
a passive device does not get power
an active device is powered
HDMI carries power but I do not know if the PS3 has the pins active so I think the device is not on. you need a device that gets power from somewhere else.
