Lurker, GBA games are like those on the SNES, while DS games are like
on the N64, plus their own touch tablet style games. The PSP is like a
PS2.

G, my understanding is that Feel the Magic WAS initially done as a demo
of the DS unit, and then they proceded to take the demo stuff and make
a game out of it. As a demo of the unit, it is the ONLY reason why I
would get the game. Actually that is why I am holding onto the Wario
game, as it is a system demo game.

Anyhow, I am not going to knock a game being a demo of a unit, if that
is what it is. I won't say it is bad, just that it is first and
foremost a demo game.

Well I guess we differ in opinion.
I prefer to have a high a end handheld as is possible to make.
That is why the PSP is the first handheld I have ever purchased for myself
(usually I buy them for my kids), because it is so high end..
All of them are very portable and can be enjoyed on a train, plane, bus,

Hmmm, I own the DS, PSP and GBA SP - let me ASSURE you, the DS and PSP do
NOT fit in my jacket pockets, the GBA - no problem. None of the latest
handhelds are as portable as the GBA, but they both kick its ass
technically.

As was Yoshi Touch & Go, however it does not stop it being an excellent and
addictive game. Feel the magic offers hours of fun, there are LOTS of mini
games, most very challenging.

I'd love to -- if only someone would buy it for me.

I guess what it comes down to is that I am not willing to pay its price. I can
get a cube for $99 Cdn, a GBA SP for the same. Even a PS2 is under $200, I
believe.

For what I could get otherwise, the PSP is overpriced. I am not interested in
its media abilities -- other devices do that for me already. Basically, I play
games, music, and movies at home already.

Mind you, if I did a lot of plane trips then the PSP would look much more
appealing.

If I had money to burn I'd get it no problem.

I have SCII on all 3 systems.
The XBox version is the best graphically but all of them are superior to
anything ever made on the DC.
The DC was a fantastic system with excellent games (both sound and graphics)
for it's time. I absolutely LOVED how DC games looked using a VGA adapter.
The PS2, although most will argue that it didn't show it the first year or 2
after it's launch, is graphically superior to the DC. Today's games on the
PS2, if ported over to the DC, would cause the DC to overheat to the point
it would have a stroke. 🙂
But than I guess the same could be said for the best games on the XBox
ported to the PS2.

Well.... looking at the GBA SP, it's a great deal smaller and lighter,

is more attractive than either to boot!

Not that it doesn't have flaws, but the GBA SP is a really nice system.

Jordan, you paid for a demo?

I was going to ask how to get this demo, but now, forget it. Demos are
basically previews.

Speaking of previews, if it wasn't for emulation software, I wouldn't own a
Nintendo DS right now if I didn't have the emulation for it. I tried before
I paid, that's smart business.

So the GBA SP "beats" the PSP because you say so? LOL

Well....(I can play this game too), the GBA SP has a far less interesting
(or better) library than the PSP's to me. The last game I bought for my GBA
SP was the Castlevania game and that was sometime last year. The current
(and limited) PSP library holds far more games that interest me and a better
library of games "to boot"

Battery life is subjective, but you also need to think about the PSP can
play movies, songs, view pictures AND play games. And how you think the GBA
SP is "more robust" (haha) is pretty funny actually since that is just an
opinion, and it sure ain't mine.

Nope, people are saying Feel the Magic, is essentially a demo, released a
full priced game. I heppen to enjoy it, but on the other hand I can
understand why people dislike it.

Buy it in your localstore, its not a demo.

Wait, letme get this straight. You used an emulator to test the DS before
you purchased it? I agree, very smart...

1: Where can I get this emulater :) I have to try it lol
2: I am gueesing IF you have an emulator, the mouse replaced the stylus? It
cannot be true emulation in that respect..maybe some geek can design one
which uses a graphics tablet or something...

Anyway, yeah, where can I get this emulator?

I agree with you 100%, I am very disappointed in the lack of titles for DS -
but looking forward to Animal Crossing. I have no interest in the PSP since
what I want in a portable is low priced games, small light and ergonomic
hardware construction. Sturdiness is a major factor in portables as well -
GBA SP...mine has been dropped multiple times, stepped on, rained on ( sat
outside over night on camping trip ) and still works flawlessly.

The DS has some cool features and at least provides a clam-shell case but
lacks games and has a poor ergonomic design. The PSP costs too much, one
drop and it's broken...no screen protection and extremely pricey games that
are better played on a home console connected to a big screen. PSP is like a
'desktop replacement' in the computer world - and just like the huge
screened heavy laptops is not a good device when you want to use it on the
go..

No it doesn't. It has some good games with more on the horizon and the DS
format is perfect for what it tries to accomplish.

The PSP costs too much, one

Don't talk out of your ass. It is not "broken" if you drop it and there
have been gaming sites that had to step on it to break it. There is an
article in EGM or Game Informer about what it takes to break it.

ALL GAMES ARE BETTER PLAYED ON A BIG SCREEN. That is not the purpose of a
handheld.

Then you'll just have to buy a jacket with bigger pockets, won't you?

I've read about the lack of screen protection on the PSP, but wouldn't
sticking something like a PDA screen protector on the screen solve this
problem, or is the screen also vulnerable to getting dislodged (and not
just prone to scratches) ?

I kinda thought Bookworm and Champ Card Games were aimed at adults. I
certainly know quite a few adults who play PopCap games while at work, and
more than a few of them like Bookworm. As for Champ Card games, if it's a
collection of playing card games, as it's name suggests, then it's
definitely something that appeals more to an older crowd than young video
gamers.
