Psu Connector Trouble

Hello everyone, so I recently bought a complete build, with a EVGA Supernova 750 b2 psu, and the card was a 970 which only has a 6 pin connector but I just purchased a 1080 ti and this card has a 6 pin and an 8 pin, I've only got a 6 pin coming out of this psu because I was to stupid to ask about the spare connectors etc that came with the psu. Anyway long story short can I purchase an 8 pin from evga or any connector or anything that can resolve my issue. Sorry if I'm not making sense, thank you to everyone.

Not currently seeing individual PCIe cables but you could contact EVGA directly and see what they say.

It can work but I would not recommend it. The 6 pin is only rated at 75 watts and an 8 pin is 150 watts. If you draw to much power you could do your PSU/cable some damage. Just get the right part for the job, an PCIe 8 pin that connects directly to the PSU or use a 2x6 pin to 8 pin if you have the 6 pin connectors to spare.

If I'm not mistaken (based on specs: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=110-b2-0750-vr), your EVGA Supernova 750 B2 (semi-modular) comes with 4x total PCIe 6+2pin connectors. The 2x PCIe 6+2pin connectors are already attached to the PSU's body, while the other 2x PCIe 6+2pin are detached (which I assume you failed to get when you bought the PC).

The four cables at the bottom left of the photo are the ones attached to the PSU's body (i.e., 1x 4+4pin ATX12V/CPU, 1x 6+2pin PCIE, 1x 6+2pin PCIE, and 1x 24-pin ATX).

Kindly check your PSU again, because with 2x PCIe 6+2pin connectors already attached, you don't have to buy an extra 8-pin cable. Just plug in the 6+2pin (8-pin) on the 8-pin socket of the GTX 1080 Ti, then plug in the 6-pin (leaving the 2pin unattached) to the other 6-pin socket of the GTX 1080 Ti.

It was part of a pre-built system. If I understand the OP correctly he didn't get all the extra cables? If I am wrong then Raison is correct you should have these cables.

^ Yup, my thoughts also, OP probably wasn't able to get all the modular cables. Maybe just a couple, SATA and PERIF cables.

But, yeah, there are two 6+2pin PCIE (VGA) attached to the 750 B2, so OP's good to go for the GTX 1080 Ti.

I wouldn't personally use such splitters and would rather contact EVGA for extra cables. Anyway, before you go into considering such, kindly check your PSU first as, maybe (and hopefully), you won't need such extra cables at all.

yeah it will work but it isn't pretty. Like Raison i would hit up EVGA first for a modular PCIe 8pin cable but it shouldn't be a danger or anything like that either which was why I posted it.
