PSU For 7800GS SUPER OC ?

I'm thinking of buying a 7800GS Super OC AGP card from

Question is.. my PSU is 400Watts with 3 Hdd, 1dvdburner,1cdburner plugged in..

will it be enough? or i need to buy a new PSU?

I think it shold be enough.

If you get vierd problems like pc restarting or similar then buy one above 500W.

another question though, if incase it's not enough, but i plug it in.. will it spoil my video card? like insufficient power to spoil my video card? or the system will just be unstable

It depends on the quality of the PSU, my experience was stability problems.

hmm can't remember what's my PSU 🙁 bought it more hten 2-3 years ago now... maybe 4 years even.. it's still working nicely though.

i had a friend of mine that bought a 6600GT AGP and when he brought home to use it, it didn't work, went back to the shop, the shop said his PSU not enough watt, think he was using a 350Watt.. then he switched to 500watt, but it seems the card was also faulty..

so i was worried that if i don't have enough watt i would fry my card.

When I recently bought a 7800GT I had constant power issues and error messages with my old 400W PSU. I upgraded to a so-so QTec 500W PSU and it still struggled. In the end I spent £55 on a Hiper Type-R 550W and it works fine now. I'd certainly suggest getting a new PSU, and make sure it's a good brand first time so you don't waste money like I did!

thx for the advice, will certainly keep that in mind..

i think i'm gonna try ti out first, my PSU is already fairly old.. so i think it's about time to change anyway.. (about 4 years old?)
